Flights
When searching for flights online, we highly recommend that you set your destination to one of India’s international airports, and not to Udaipur. Once you have chosen an international flight, you can separately book a domestic flight to Udaipur. Booking this way will typically result in better pricing and travel flexibility than booking directly to Udaipur.

The following international airports offer connections to Udaipur (UDR):

International and domestic baggage allowances are different — notably, domestic cabin baggage often has a 7 kg limit.
Make sure to check the baggage limits of your individual airlines to avoid excess baggage fees.
-
If you have additional time in your itinerary, you may consider exploring the city of your international arrival port before the wedding (or departure port after the wedding). Booking your international and domestic flights separately will make this process easier.
If you instead plan to transfer directly from your international to your domestic flight to Udaipur, please allot a couple of hours of buffer between flights to account for any potential travel delays.

On average, roundtrip flights from the US to India should cost around $800 in April. Let us know if you need assistance in finding good options.
Domestic one-way flights to Udaipur should cost around $50.

Visas
If you are traveling with an eVisa, make sure to download a copy of the visa on your phone before traveling. If desired, you can additionally bring a paper copy for insurance.
-
For international travelers, first and foremost, please ensure you have a passport that is valid for at least 6 months from your date of travel.
If you do not have a valid passport, please get started on this process ASAP as this can take some time.

For non-Indian citizens, a visa will be required to travel to India. For most cases, an e-Visa / ETA can be obtained online by completing an application here.
You can double-check if you are eligible for the eVisa by visiting the Indian government’s visa website. In the rare case that your country is not listed, you may need to consult with your local Indian consulate. If you have any concerns, please contact our wedding planners.

Completing the eVisa application can be somewhat frustrating. Here are a some notes that may help the process:
For most cases, the eTourist Visa (for 30 Days) visa type should be sufficient for the wedding. If you plan on returning to India in the coming years, there are additional options for 1 year and 5 years at an additional cost.
The visa application website is unfortunately outdated and finicky. We suggest that you allot at least thirty minutes to complete the application in one sitting. However, your draft application will remain valid for 7 days in case you need to return to it later. Some tips:
Try to avoid refreshing the page whenever possible, as you will be required to click through all of the pages to resume where you left off.
Enter all information carefully the first time. If you try to move to the next page before the current page is completed, or if there are validation errors on the current page, the application will reset your current page, and you will have to re-enter all of the information.
For Americans, please note that the date format must be DD/MM/YYYY throughout the application.
At the end, a payment of $25 (handled via an external website) will be required to submit the application. It can be difficult to tell whether your payment has been processed—however, you should receive a confirmation email stating that your visa application has been received once the payment goes through.
If your payment does not work on one card, we highly recommend trying a different payment method instead of retrying the same one. If three failed payment attempts are made on the same eVisa application, your application will be voided and you will need to start a new one. (Yes, David learned this the hard way.)
In our experience, the visa is typically granted (via email confirmation) within a few days of submitting the application.
